Kosova independence
KOSOVA PEOPLE ARE READY TO EMBRACE THE INDEPENDENCE
The new Kosova flag is ready to unfurl and the orchestra is ready to burst with European hymn, Beethoven’s "Ode to Joy.", while Kosovo people prepare to become on Sunday the citizens of Europe's newest state.
Kosovo Albanian leaders are certain to declare independence on Sunday. Kosovo Prime Minister Hashim Thaçi is expected to announce the timing of the declaration at 1230 Friday, said a political source.
Leaders of Kosovo's 95-percent ethnic Albanian majority are widely expected to declare independence on Sunday.
"We have confirmation from some 100 states which say they are ready to recognize Kosovo's independence," said the head of its provisional government, Hashim Thaci, earlier this week
The EU would replace a UN administration that was installed after the war, bringing in some 1,800 European police officers, judges, prosecutors and customs officials to maintain law and order, while the Kosovo Albanian majority government would pledge to create a multi-ethnic state with fair treatment to all minorities
